Back Home

We've been back home for more than ten days now, and a closing post is long overdue. But it's a tough one, first because we've been keeping busy since we got back and second, we don’t really want a closing, we still wish the trip wasn't over!

London, last days

We were hoping to get some sleep on the flight across the ocean but we weren't too lucky. So we arrived at midday to London, while in LA it was 3 AM, ready to fight the jet lag with all our might.

Goodbye L.A.

For our second visit to LA we decided not to rent a car (very expensive around the 4th of July) and move around by public transport. Everybody says that you can't stay in LA without a car so the challenge made it even more interesting. Spoiler: it's actually very hard and slow to move around the city without a car. I'm glad that we had already seen most of the interesting places during our previous trip.

From Teotihuacan to wrestling

Ever since we decided to go to Mexico City, I knew I wanted to visit Teotihuacan, ruins of an ancient pre-Aztecan city, not too far from the capital.

Mexico City

Puebla is a rather big city, but it feels like a small village compared to Mexico City (or DF, from 'Distrito Federal'), a gigantic metropolis of about twenty million people. Most of them must have been on the metro line that took us to the hotel, or at least that's how it felt as we squeezed in the wagon with our backpacks. The metro is super cheap, apparently the cheapest in the world at 0.20 euros per ride, and therefore extremely popular for transfers within the city. Especially since it allows to avoid the horrible traffic jams on the surface.
