The moment has arrived: tomorrow we will leave Barcelona, without a clear idea of when we might come back, if ever.
We have spent months thinking about this trip, making plans and trying to imagine how things will be, which kind of places and people we will meet, and the many adventures that we may face. Going even further back, we have spent years dreaming about this very moment, dreaming a long-term trip like this.
It is a funny feeling. When plans and dreams are still far to come true you tend to imagine only the good (or bad) things that will happen in the future, on that trip that you have been planning for so long.
Only when the time comes, on the other hand, you start thinking about what you will have to leave behind. You start counting the remaining months, weeks, eventually days, that will separate you from the life that you have lived so far. Work, friends, places, weekend plans and your daily routine, everything is going to change. Spanish will not be our main language anymore.
They say that every beginning is an end as well. The opening of this blog is thus going to be a closure in a way, a hug and waving hand for all the wonderful people that have marked our years here. Thank you for the time spent together. We will take a little bit of you on our trip, with the hope of meeting again one day.
Farewell Spain (and Catalunya), we will miss you.
