LA was an interesting but very exhausting stop, and we were looking forward to slow down a little. We already went to see our friends Ema and Travis in Dallas in 2009, so there was no pressure to go sightseeing, and our plan was to just enjoy their company.
And it worked out great. We wondered around parks, went to a couple of museums, and generally just hung out, played with their son Samu, watched Game of Thrones, talked, ate and laughed. It really couldn't get much better than this.

We couldn't leave without eating some pancakes first, as it was here where our Sunday pancakes tradition started.

It was lovely to see them both again and we kind of wished we didn't have to leave at all. Somehow our traveler's spirit seemed to be gone and all we craved was to just stay put and go nowhere. Our friends' warm home made us miss the home we used to have and the normal life, without having to look for a place to sleep every other night.

It is a strange feeling. We are going to Mexico, a place D wanted to visit ever since he discovered the Lonely Planet guides, and yet we don't feel so happy about it. Hopefully once we get to the hot, humid Cancun, we'll get our groove back!
