The stop in Koh Kong is not even worth mentioning. We arrived, panicked a little as all the guesthouses seemed to be full, but managed to find a place to sleep in the end. Koh Kong might be nice if you are interested in trekking which we at this point were not, so we used it only to stack on dollars, to do some research about how to move to the south of Thailand and little else. The only exciting thing was that I had my first beer in Southeast Asia in Koh Kong, after 2 months of travelling around here!

The border is just a short tuk tuk ride from Koh Kong and the crossing was very easy and straightforward.

We hopped on a minivan, then a bus and after 9 hours we finally arrived to Bangkok. How very different it felt this time! Short ride on the Skytrain and even on (the correct) public bus and we were back at the (in)famous Khao San Road. This time we were much less stressed and intimidated... Our bus wasn't leaving until the evening of the following day, so we took it pretty easy. The only things we 'had' to do were to find a bathing suit for me and some book for the long way down south, and for the rest of the time we did ... nothing.

And it was a long ride indeed, with a night bus that was impossible to sleep in and that dropped us off at 5am at the pier, together with dozens and dozens of other tourists going to one of the islands of the Samui Archipelago. How we all fit in the catamaran, is still a mystery, but we did and after two hours of a crazy sea ride (lets say I shouldn't have had breakfast...) our two-day journey from Koh Kong, Cambodia, to the island Koh Tao, Thailand, was finally over!
